I have been tuning and repairing pianos in the Boston area since 1979. My goal is to make you love your piano again! You may own a new Steinway, Yamaha, or Kawai grand piano; or perhaps a Baldwin spinet you were given by friends, or you found it on CraigsList. It’s most gratifying to bring out the best in a concert level instrument, and also very satisfying to bring a much neglected console or studio upright back into “musical condition” for a new generation of piano students.
After completing a program in piano technology and grand rebuilding (1977) I joined the Boston Chapter of the Piano Technicians Guild and passed their exams to become a Registered Piano Technician (1979). Since then I have been very active in our Guild’s local, regional, and national leadership. We continually upgrade our skills through regular technical training programs.
Since the early 1980s (after working with several piano dealerships) I have been an independent piano technician, maintaining pianos for concert venues, schools, and many private clientele. My specialization is as a field service technician: going to your home, evaluating your piano’s condition and discussing your musical needs and ambitions, and then providing the appropriate service.
